IFITS : The experts in health professional training

Vocational Institute in Ile de France.

Situated in the eastern Parisian region, between the borders of three other departments : Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Seine-et-Marne, IFITS is set in the green and pleasant surroundings of Neuilly-sur-Marne. It is one of the most important vocational training centres of health professionals in Ile-de-France.

More than 60 years experience.

IFITS was founded in 1946 by the psychiatrist Dr Théodore Simon and today holds GIP status. This Public Interest Group* was set up following the merging of the two paramedical schools, l’Etablissement Public de Santé Maison Blanche and the Groupe Hospitalier Intercommunal Le Raincy/Montfermeil.

IFITS has more than 60 years of expertise in training paramedical professions. During the last 60 years, the school has developed to offer multi-faceted professional training.

Diverse training at all levels

IFITS is the first institution with a regional health-training plan and offers training courses for all levels of qualifications between III and V. Almost 1000 students and undergraduates are divided between three levels of training ; preliminary, initial and further study.

IFITS offers training to become a state registered nurse, anaesthetist nurse, auxiliary nurse and paediatric nurse.

Professional training for :

• Nurses, anaesthetist nurses, home auxiliary nurses, paediatric nurses, ambulance technicians, auxiliary careworkers.

• IFITS works in partnership with the European ERASMUS programme.

• In partnership with the University of Marne-la-Vallée and Paris XIII, university level diplomas are offered in :

Practical facilities

• Lecture theatres, supervised training rooms, practical training rooms…

• IFITS has a centre of information and documentation. Enrolment at the institute allows access to libraries at Hopitaux de Maison-Blanche and at Le Raincy/Montfermeil.

• Cafeteria open between 11.30am and 2pm, Monday to Friday.

• The institute has addresses of student accommodation available

Our educational objectives

Open to all students regardless of their nationality, life experience or culture the institute will provide them with training for work in the public sector. The students will be encouraged to recognise the basic personal rights of the individual, and the possibilities of individual and group development within others. The aim of the training programme is to aid the development of the students into competent and efficient health workers, with the ability to assess and improve their performances. The educational programme is based upon the health needs of the community. It instills into the pupils a broad, clear idea of the role of the profession, whilst respecting the constant development within that and the versatility required to deal with this.
